Jathikai Pal (Nutmeg Milk)

Ingredients

  • Nutmeg powder – ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Milk – 750 ml
  • Dry ginger powder – ½ tsp
  • Cardamom pods – 2
  • Jaggery – 2 tsp

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then simmer until reduced to ~500 ml.
  3. Strain and drink warm before bedtime for stress relief.

Poonai Kaali Vithai Urundai

Ingredients

  • Roasted gram – 200 g
  • Mucuna pruriens seeds – 50 g
  • Raisins – 1 tbsp
  • Almonds – 5
  • Cashews – 5
  • Ragi flour – 30 g
  • Jaggery – as required
  • Grated coconut – 3 tbsp
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp

Method

  1. Roast seeds, gram, and ragi; cool and grind.
  2. Sauté nuts and raisins in ghee.
  3. Mix ground powder, coconut, and jaggery; form into balls.
  4. Consume 500–1000 mg seed powder daily with milk.

Kapparusi

Ingredients

  • Raw rice – 2 cups
  • Roasted gram – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – ½ cup

Method

  1. Soak rice for 2 hours, drain, then roast until puffed.
  2. Make jaggery syrup (thick consistency) and strain.
  3. Mix puffed rice into syrup, spread on plate to cool.
